I have started this section for NetMeeting related products that don't logically fit into my hardware or addons page.

SunForum

SunForum is a T.120 desktop product for Sun Microsystems that claims some degree of compatibility with NetMeeting. For more information see the Sun site.

DC-Share for Unix

Data Connections Limited is supplying a product called DC-Share which they claim is fully interoperable with NetMeeting. Unfortunately they do not plan to make it available to the end user market.

Teamwave Workplace

Teamwave Workplace is a system for "any-time" collaboration that now has some support for NetMeeting.

Licensing and pricing is by client and is from $60 to $75 per year depending on volume. A demo may be downloaded at the Teamwave site.

I haven't had a chance to look at this product but I will as time permits. Collaborative net based work is a particular interest of mine.

eSelective Technologies

eSelective is showing at their website the beginnings of what could be an extremely exciting NetMeeting based product.

What they are building is an series of modules (starting with an enhanced NetMeeting that is currently available for beta download) and soon to have server/operator/ecommerce components that will allow a one on one service to be delivered and paid for over the internet. I will observe and report back here as the product evolves.

HelpMeeting

HelpMeeting are providing a combination software enhancement to NetMeeting/service that allows groups to more easy manage meetings.

Underneath it uses NetMeeting as the client to provide application sharing, file transfer, chat, whiteboard. What is added are functions to establish conferences, email participants as well as a more straightforward user interface. They also will provide a version that will do http tunneling allowing access through firewalls that are open to web traffic only.

They allow free 15 minute meetings -- and have a pricing structure that translates to minimal costs of $70.00 per month -- considering they are providing only a small technology add on and no real bandwidth relief it does seem a bid steep (but compared to services like Webex whom they claim as competitors the price may be attractive). The service though does what it says ( at least in my minimal testing) and I think would be useful to those not wishing to understand the underpinnings of managing data conferences with NetMeeting

VideoLink Pro

This product apparently has been available since July -- I just noticed though. It is something that I have been searching for for a long time and wondering why it never existed.

What VideoLink Pro is- a H.323 client for the Mac that is compatible with NetMeeting and other H.323 clients for the PC.

VideoLink Pro is purchasable from Smith Micro ( they also make the Internet Comm Suite product - an H.323 client for the PC) for $59.95.

As far as I can tell no trial download is available. I haven't actually tried the product ( not having access to Mac hardware nor any practical knowledge on using the Mac).

Activex Component for Visual Basic Developers

Andy Hopper has decided to make his ActiveX control for NetMeeting freely available. You may freely use and redistribute it without consideration to him. You may download the release version from his website. General information about the product can is also there. found The release version is only supported under the NT variants  (Windows NT 4, Windows 2000, Windows XP) - I may support  Windows '9X, but I will need volunteers to beta test. Currently, the only way to successfully redistribute the control is to run the installer package on the target machine.
