The Story

Most of the people visiting this site will know the story but I will repeat it here for those that don't.

In January (2001) I was listening to my favourite radio station (newly converted to all Jazz -- CJRT -91.1 www.jazz.fm) - they announced that one of their sponsors was running a contest to win a guitar - so I quickly jumped over to the sponsor's website (the National Post) and entered the contest. The contest was co-sponsored by the National Post, mymusic.ca -- an online CD retailer, and Warner Music Canada

The guitar was a Fender Stratocaster autographed by Eric Clapton and B.B King as part of the promotion for their (now) Grammy winning blues duet album - "Riding with the King".

Anyway early in February a lady from Warner Music Canada telephoned and said I had won the guitar and arranged a presentation ceremony for February 22.

All pictures are thumbnails with links to a larger 640x480 version of the picture.

The Presentation

I have produced a chronicle of the presentation ceremony.

The ceremony -- me with the guitar, people from mymusic.ca on my right, the president of Warner Music Canada on the left.

The Guitar

The guitar is an Eric Clapton "Blackie" signature Fender Stratocaster

in a G&G custom tweed case with the ugliest colour of orange plush lining you have ever seen.

The pick guard is autographed by B.B. King and Eric Clapton.

I have taken a number of pictures of the guitar and case from various view points to show the guitar (and the ugly orange plush).

The Fate of the Guitar

The ultimate resting place of the guitar is currently undecided.

The Dog

These pictures have nothing to do with the guitar but you can never have enough pictures of your dog:
