I was starting to gather bits and pieces of information about H.323 products and services and had no appropriate place to put them so decided to create a separate page -- my guess is the use of H.323 telephony for toll bypass and customer support is going to be an ever increasing part of how NetMeeting is used. For now I think this will be just a hodge-podge of information that is H.323 related. If a more appropriate organizational metaphor presents itself I will change

I am generally trying to keep to information relative to SOHO or home NetMeeting user but that could vary if I find some other interesting products.

H.323 Toolkits and Information

In my cyber travels I came upon a couple of companies that sell (or in Elemedia's case give away) toolkits for H.323 development, :as well various sources of H.323 information:
bulletRadvision
bulletElemedia ( or more direct info here)
bulletData Connection Limited (DCL)
bulletThe OpenH323 project
bulletH.323 information from Microsoft's NetMeeting Resource Kit
bulletTrillium H.323 tutorial
bulletCisco White Paper on H.323
bulletHughes Software Systems
bulletVideo Gateway
bulletInternational Telecommunications Union (ITU)
bulletwww.packetizer.com  has a list of H.323 products that is the most complete that I have seen
bulletSorenson has a white paper "The Challenge of H.323 Video Conferencing with Network Address Translation" that is focussed on their Glasses Gateway product

Quicknet Technologies

Quicknet has been supplying their Line Jack  and Phone Jack cards with their H.323 telephone gateway in beta form for a while now -it shows promise but I have never really been successful in using the gateway ( they have no NT version of it unfortunately).

Sound4Tel

This is a product from a German company that appears to be a much cheaper competitor to Quicknet. Sound4Tel appears to be telephony sound card and H.323 telephone gateway software product that sells for $80.

Repeated attempts to contact them though have been unsuccessful so I haven't been able to access this product at all.

Phone Patch

Equival has been supplying the Phone Patch H.323 proxy product for a while is heavily involved in the OpenH.323 project.

Sniffer Pro

SnifferPro from Network Associates Sniffer Technologies division is a s/w H.323 analyser ( it also does other protocols).

A trial version (at least of some of the Sniffer product)  is available for download. Prices seem to range from $1495 and up.
